1. What is Uptime Monitoring?

BlogVault provides a feature to monitor your website’s uptime: i.e., whether your website is accessible or experiencing downtime.

2. Why do I need Uptime Monitoring?

Here are the main reasons why uptime monitoring is essential:

  • Downtime results in financial loss: If your website becomes inaccessible, it can directly impact your revenue.

  • Visitor trust and experience: Your visitors rely on your site being available. If the site is down, it’s equivalent to closing the door on them unintentionally.

  • Impact on SEO: Frequent downtime can negatively affect your search engine rankings, which is never ideal for any website.

3. How does BlogVault's Uptime Monitoring work?

BlogVault pings your website (via our plugin) every 15 or 5 minutes—depending on your subscription—to check whether it’s up or down. If the site is detected as down, you are immediately notified so you can act quickly and prevent further issues.

4. Will this feature drain my website’s resources?

No. We’ve specifically designed the ping intervals (15 or 5 minutes) to ensure your server does not experience unnecessary load.

5. Why am I receiving notifications?

Notifications are part of the Uptime Monitoring feature. They help keep you informed about your website’s availability so you can act quickly if anything goes wrong.

6. Why is my site showing as Down?

A website can show as down for multiple reasons, including:

  • The website has crashed.

  • MySQL (database) server is not running.

  • The website is under heavy load.

  • A plugin or theme update broke the site.

Other possible reasons include:

  • A firewall or security system is blocking our ping requests.

  • The BlogVault plugin is inactive or was accidentally deactivated.

7. I received a “Site Down” alert. What should I do?

First, manually check if your website is currently online.

  • If the site is online: We may be unable to connect with the BlogVault plugin due to a configuration issue.
In this case, contact our team at support@blogvault.net, and we will assist you.

8. What is the frequency of the checks?

Your website is pinged every 15 minutes or 5 minutes, based on your subscription plan.

9. Can I change the checking frequency?

At the moment, the frequency cannot be customized.

10. How do I disable email notifications for Uptime Monitoring?

You can request this by contacting our support team at support@blogvault.net.

11. How can I view my website’s Uptime History?

We do not currently provide an uptime history dashboard, but this feature is under development.
If you need your website’s uptime history, contact us at support@blogvault.net, and we will provide it.
